Trader: S. Korean producer revises PVC offers down to India
Sept. 06, 2018
A trader operating in India reported that a South Korean producer implemented a downward revision on its September PVC offers on lack of demand for import cargoes amidst further depreciation of the rupee.
The producer cut its PVC k67 offers by $50/ton from its initial September levels to $940/ton CIF India, cash, according to the trader. He said, “We expect to see notable decreases in import PVC prices given the currency situation. Plus, competitively-priced US PVC is exerting pressure on the market.”
In India, the overall range for import PVC k67 prices for mainstream origins is currently reported at $940-980/ton CIF, cash while offers for American PVC stand at around $890/ton CIF, cash. “Despite their attractive levels, buyers are not that interested in US offers due to antidumping duties and long shipping times,” a few sellers opined.
